Chestnut Poncho

Pattern available in English and Norwegian

This poncho is knitted from the top down. It has increases at the shoulders, centre front and centre back, allowing the fabric to drape beautifully without bunching up under the chin. A small chestnut row adds a decorative touch at the centre front and back, and the poncho is finished with a row of eyelets and optional fringes.

All sizes start in the same way, and you increase at the shoulders until you feel the poncho is wide enough. The poncho in the picture fits sizes M–XL. Continue increasing at the centre front and back all the way down.

Size:            Increase at the shoulders until you reach your desired width

Yarn:            200 g HS Silver Sock + 100 g HS Silk Mohair or
                    300 g Drops Air or
                    400 g HS Peruvian

Needle:        5 mm (US 8)

Gauge:         18 sts per 10 cm
